Reserve power forward/center Tony Battie has a torn rotator cuff in his left shoulder and he should miss a substanial part of the season.  Battie played in 66 games last season and he averaged 6.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game.  The Magic are darn lucky that they signed Adonal Foyle who will now get major minutes as the main backup power forward and center of the Magic.

Keyon Dooling is out indefinately with a strained thumb.  He has played in 37 games and is averaging 23.2 minutes, 8.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists.  The Magic will probably give rookie J.J. Redick and Travis Diener increased playing time while Dooling is out.

Grant Hill will miss 2-3 weeks with a Grade 1 MCL Sprain of the right knee.  The Magic will miss Grant Hill a lot on the court as he’s their second best player on the team.  Hill has averaged 15.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game this season.  Keith Bogans and Darko Milicic will likely gets bumps in playing time.  Bogans is averaging 4.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game.  Milicic is averaging 7.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game this season.  The Magic will need Bogans & Milicic to match the numbers that Hill was putting up on offense.
