The Magic outrebounded the Knicks 51-35 last night and it was a big reason for the win last night.  Dwight Howard led the way for the Magic in this game with 24 points, 18 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot last night.  Hedo Turkoglu also had a good game with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal.  Brandon Bass (14 points), J.J. Redick (14 points), Ryan Anderson (14 points), Gilbert Arenas (10 points) and Jameer Nelson (10 points) also pitched in offensively for the Magic last night.  The Magic are now 21-12 on the year.

The Magic outscored the pesky Cavs 35-21 in the 4th quarter to finish them off tonight.  The Magic shot 50.6% from the floor and a absolutely stunning 61.3% (19 of 31) from three point range tonight which was a big reason for the win tonight.  Gilbert Arenas led the way for the Magic tonight with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists and 3 steals.  Jason Richardson filled up the stat sheet with 20 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot tonight.  J.J. Redick popped in 14 points and he had 1 rebound in only 19 minutes on the court.  Dwight Howard (12 points), Jameer Nelson (13 points) and Earl Clark (12 points in 18 minutes) also pitched in for the Magic tonight.  The Magic are now 20-12 on the year.

Brandon Bass is getting hot for the Orlando Magic

25-year old power forward Brandon Bass helped push Rashard Lewis out of town by stepping up.  Bass has played in 14 games so far this December and he is averaging 28.4 minutes, 13.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game.  He is shooting 54.7% from the floor this month and he is also hitting 79.5% from the free throw line!  Bass has now played in 31 games (8 starts) for the Magic so far this year and he is averaging 23.8 minutes, 11.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game.  Bass is shooting 52.9% from the floor and 83.7% from the free throw line so far this year.  Bass gives Dwight Howard support down low on the boards and defensively.

The Magic outrebounded the Nets 46-38 and they held them to 39.7% shooting from the floor which were the big reasons for the blowout win last night.  Hedo Turkoglu led the way for the Magic in this game with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal.  Dwight Howard also had a huge game for the Magic last night with 19 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists and 6 blocked shots.  J.J. Redick also was solid with 15 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.  Jason Richardson (14 points), Brandon Bass (11 points) and Ryan Anderson (10 points and 12 rebounds) also pitched in last night.  The Magic are now 19-12 on the season.

The Magic played great defense as they held the Celtics to 34.6% shooting from the floor and they outscored them 29-15 in the 4th quarter to surge to victory.  Brandon Bass led the way for the Magic yesterday as he had 21 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot.  Hedo Turkoglu also had a solid game with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal.  Jameer Nelson (12  points), J.J. Redick (11 points) and Ryan Anderson (10 points) also pitched in for the Magic yesterday.  The Magic are now 18-12 on the season.

Orlando Magic 123, San Antonio Spurs 101

The Orlando Magic shot 59.5% from the floor in this game and they were 13 of 25 (52%) from three point range which helped them blow out the Spurs in the second half.  Dwight Howard led the way for the Magic in this game with 29 points, 14 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 blocked shots.  Brandon Bass (17 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists) and J.J. Redick (17 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists) also had solid games for the Magic.  Jason Richardson (15 points), Hedo Turkoglu (11 points), Gilbert Arenas (14 points) and Ryan Anderson (10 points) also pitched in offensively in this game.  The Magic are now 17-12 on the year.

Daniel Orton of the Orlando Magic has knee surgery

20-year old rookie center Daniel Orton has had surgery on his left knee.  The surgery will keep him out until at least the NBA All-Star break in February.  This is a bad break for Orton who was not likely to play much as a rookie anyway this year.  This injury is going to put him even further behind in his development.

Dallas Mavericks 105, Orlando Magic 99

The Magic didn’t play too well on D last night as the Mavericks shot 50% from the floor and that did them in.  Dwight Howard led the way for the Magic last night with 26 points, 23 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocked shots.  J.J. Redick (21 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist) and Jameer Nelson (19 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists) also had solid games for the Magic last night.  The new guys…..Hedo Turkoglu, Jason Richardson & Gilbert Arenas combined to score 21 points on a combined 7 of 30 shooting from the floor!  The Magic are now 16-12 on the season.

Atlanta Hawks 91, Orlando Magic 81

The new guys didn’t add much in their debuts for the Magic last night.  The Magic only shot 35.2% from the floor and they were outrebounded 51-38 so the scoreboard doesn’t come as much of a surprise.  Dwight Howard led the way for the Magic last night with 19 points, 20 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots.  Jameer Nelson also had a solid game with 18 points,  2 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.  Brandon Bass got the start at power forward for the Magic and he finished up with 13 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals but he only shot 5 of 12 from the floor.  The Magic are now 16-11 on the year.

Philadelphia 76ers 97, Orlando Magic 89

The Magic outrebounded the Sixers 53-39 but it just wasn’t enough tonight.  The Magic were playing short tonight with only 8 players available due to the trades they made earlier in the day.  Dwight Howard led the way for the Magic in this game with 26 points, 20 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots.  Brandon Bass got the start at power forward and he was solid with 18 points and 8 rebounds in 34 minutes on the floor.  Jameer Nelson did his part in this game with 17 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 1 steal.  The Magic are now 16-10 on the season.
