The Orlando Magic acquire center Milovan Rakovic from the Mavericks

The Orlando Magic have acquired Milovan Rakovic from the Dallas Mavericks for forward Reyshawn Terry.  Rakovic definately has more upside than Terry does, but it won’t matter if he doesn’t come to the United State.  Rakovic is a 6′10″ center from Serbia.  He’s a fundamentally sound player as most Europeans are.  He played in 54 games in Serbia and he averaged 11.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.4 blocked shots per game.  Rakovic takes a lot of high % shots and that’s why he hit 63.9% of his shots from the floor, but he only made 69.4% of his free throws.

The Orlando Magic will be a interesting team to watch this off season

The Orlando Magic need to put some more good players around Dwight Howard and they have their eyes on forward Rashard Lewis from the Sonics who will be a free agent on July 1st.  Lewis would be a very good choice to complement Howard because he’s capable of scoring much more than he has already in his career because he would become the #1 option on offense for the Magic.  The Magic also has to decide on the fate of Darko Milicic who they really like as he will also become a free agent.  Keyon Dooling and Pat Garrity have player options for next season and it’s very likely that Garrity will want to come back, but Dooling might want to go somewhere else where he can get more playing time.  The Magic own the #44 and #54 picks in the NBA Draft tomorrow so I wouldn’t get too excited, but they will likely pick the best player available.
